On September 23, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi delivered a speech at the Future Summit plenary session in New York, presenting the concept of "A Future of Peace and Tranquility."
He stated, "In this world of constant change and turbulence, new risks and challenges are emerging one after another, and no country can remain unaffected."
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reiterated that all countries should "uphold a comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable security outlook, resolve disputes through dialogue, address differences through consultation, and enhance security through cooperation."
He further added, "Major powers, in particular, should set an example by prioritizing the greater good, breaking the geopolitical cycle, transcending group confrontation, and becoming drivers of global unity and anchors of international peace."
Minister Wang also emphasized the need to build a future of development and prosperity.
He remarked, "In today's world, countries are no longer sailing in over 190 small boats, but rather, aboard a large vessel of shared destiny. While small boats may not withstand rough seas, a large vessel can weather the fiercest storms."
Wang Yi stated, "All countries should share development opportunities and pursue win-win cooperation. We must adhere to a people-centered development philosophy, promote inclusive and shared economic globalization, and ensure that development benefits all peoples."
The Chinese Foreign Minister also emphasized the need for a "future of fairness and justice."
He said, "Regardless of size or strength, all countries are equal members of the international community. International affairs should be managed through consultation among nations."
Wang Yi further stated, "We need to build a multipolar world of equality and order, uphold the international system centered on the United Nations, the international order based on international law, and the fundamental principles of international relations rooted in the purposes and principles of the UN Charter."
He also emphasized, "We must strengthen the authority of international rule of law, reject the law of the jungle where the strong prey on the weak, and oppose hegemonic actions such as unilateral sanctions."
The Chinese Foreign Minister reaffirmed China's support for the United Nations in playing a leading role in the governance of artificial intelligence.
He concluded, "We will propose an AI capacity-building action plan that benefits all of humanity. In particular, we must encourage young people to unleash their creativity and contribute to the progress of humankind."
On Sunday, September 22, world leaders adopted the *Pact for the Future*, which includes the *Global Digital Compact* and the *Declaration for Future Generations*. This pact covers a wide range of topics, including peace and security, sustainable development, climate change, digital cooperation, human rights, gender, youth and future generations, as well as the transformation of global governance.
